Faculty Positions in the Viterbi School of Engineering

The USC Viterbi School of Engineering seeks outstanding faculty candidates at all levels and all disciplines to advance the goals and mission of the School and the University.  The Viterbi School has academic and research programs in all major engineering disciplines, including Aerospace Engineering, Astronautics and Space Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and Systems Architecture and Engineering. It is essential that candidates have an exceptional research record, and strong interest in teaching. Applications must include a letter clearly indicating the area of specialization, a detailed curriculum vitae, a one-page statement on current and future research directions, and names of at least four professional references.
 
The graduate program of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering has been consistently ranked in the top 10 in the US News & World Report for the past several years. The School’s 166 tenured and tenure track faculty includes 28 members of the National Academy of Engineering,  seven winners of the Presidential Early Career Awards, 43 Early Career Awards, four winners of the Shannon Award, and a co-winner of the Turing Award. USC faculty are conducting research in leading-edge technologies with about $170 million in research expenditures annually. The Viterbi school is home to the Information Sciences Institute (ISI), two active National Science Foundation-funded Engineering Research Centers (the Integrated Media Systems Center and the Biomimetic MicroElectronic Systems Center), and  the Department of Homeland Security’s first center of excellence (CREATE, the Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events).
