Prof. Behrokh Koshnevis is the recipient of the 2005 Melvin R. Lohmann Medal. The Lohmann Medal honors a graduate of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University who has made "outstanding technical or managerial contributions to his or her profession and/or contributions to the education of engineers, architects or technologists that merit the highest recognition." The Lohmann Medal was established in honor of Dr. Melvin R. "Pete" Lohmann, who served as Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State from 1955 to 1977. During this period, Dean Lohmann brought the College to national prominence. In addition, he provided leadership at the national level in the movement to establish the professional program concept for engineering education. Pete served as National President of both the Engineers Council for Professional Development (forerunner to ABET) and the American Society for Engineering Education.
