Macintosh Downloading Instructions






1) Point your Web browser at RealNetwork's Download RealPlayer page.



2) Enter your name and e-mail information in the fields provided.

3) Choose your OS (operating system) and CPU (central processing unit) types from the pop-up menu.

4) If you know the speed of your connection to the internet, select it from the pop-up menu.

5) De-select or keep selected the "Notify" option for RealNetworks' updates, depending on your preference.

6) Mouse-click on the button "Download Free RealPlayer."





A new page will load. From that page,

7) select a "mirror site" to download the software from.  A site close to your location will usually yield the fastest download time.





A succession of progress windows will appear as the software downloads and decodes. Once this has happened, three new files will appear on your desktop: "playerppc50.hqx," "RealPlayer Installer.sit" and "RealPlayer Installer."

8) Double-click the file RealPlayer Installer.





The installer software will launch.

9) Follow the instructions given by the installer.





10) To finish the installation, hit the "Finish" button.





The installer installs the software onto your machine. When it is finished, it automatically launches the RealPlayer software and your Web browser. A short introductory  messages plays. You can stop it by pressing the stop or pause buttons on the RealPlayer interface.





10) Unless you want to keep them, you may throw away the files "playerppc50.hqx," "RealPlayer Installer.sit" and "RealPlayer Installer."
