      INSTRUCTIONS

    THE RATING MENU

    - Click "movie clips" on the left side of the interface to begin rating the movie clips. To watch each movie clip click the thumbnails located at the top of the screen. After watching each movie clip rate them according to emotion (love, loneliness, boredom, anger) by moving the respective square dials diagonally. You can select different groups of clips to view by clicking a film title at the lower right corner of the screen.

    - Click the box next to the film title to include the movie clips from that particular film into the pool of clips from which the final movie clips will be chosen from

    - Click "sound clips" (also on the left side of the interface) to begin rating the sound clips. Rate each sound clip as you did with the movie clips. You can go back and forth between movie clips and sound clips at any time.

    - When you are done with rating, click the "go to timeline" button.

    THE TIMELINE MENU

    - Choose an emotion by clicking on the diagonal squares and create an emotion curve. The 8 bars represent the overall timeline of your movie.

    - While in "preview clips" mode the thumbnails of each final movie clip slot (and the sound clip number labels) will cycle through all the potential clips (according to the values of the timeline the user is designating).

    - To determine which clips will be used in each final movie slot click the "spawn clip" button. This will choose a movie clip and a sound clip for each slot according to the ratings given by the user in the emotional timeline. Each time you click the "spawn clip" button the program will choose a new clip from the potential clip pool for each final movie slot.

    - When you are satisfied click the "watch movie" button and enjoy your movie. At any given time you can hit the "back" button and make adjustments to your ratings and emotion curves.
