MARK BARTLETT Christiane Robbins is an artist working at the intersection of the studio practice, digital media, and critical theory components of Media and Visual Arts production. A studio practitioner and contemporary theorist, she focuses on the emergence of visual-cultural studies as an outgrowth of the cultural legacy of late 20th-century new genres. Robbinsıs work has been included in exhibitions such as Image World at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York City, the Berlin Film Festival, the American Film Institute's National Video Festival, the International Film and Video Festival-Budapest, Women in the Director's Chair, the Rotterdam Film Festival, the Vigo International Film Festival and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; and in the permanent collections of, among others, the Stedlijck Museum, Amsterdam; MOMA, NY; the Kitchen, NY; the Banff Centre for the Arts, and MOCA, Honolulu. Currently, Robbins is the Director of the USC's Matrix program for Digital Media and the Visual Arts; an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California and Excutive Producer for AIM. She is also a principal of Jetztzeidt, a studio researching issues critical to the intersection and negotiation of visual culture, digital media and video practice.
