ABOUT ACRONYMS:

All poster and oral presentations at this meeting should be free of acronyms (FOA). Acronyms do not impress anyone anymore, and they make your presentation much more difficult to understand. If in doubt about whether an acronym will be understood, a good rule is: If it isn't in the dictionary and your dentist doesn't know it, then no one else will understand it either (NOEWUIE).

If you feel that you must use an acronym (for example, if you work for the United States government or for a large aerospace company), then special acronym permission slips will be available at the front desk on the day of your presentation for $100 per acronym. All funds collected will be donated to Acronymics Anonymous.
