Paderewski Monument Fund Drive
The Polish-American Congress and Polish-American Historical Association (PAHA) in cooperation with the Polish Music Center at USC, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Los Angeles and the Polish National Alliance announce the launching of a fund drive for the Paderewski Monument at USC.
This initiative will highlight Paderewski's special links to the State of California and the University of Southern California, which bestowed upon Paderewski the Honorary Doctorate of Laws in 1923. The Paderewski Monument Fund Drive will culminate in Fall of 2007 when a bronze statue of Paderewski will be placed at the specially designed area adjacent to the Music Building on the USC campus. The official dedication of the Paderewski Monument will coincide with this year's annual Paderewski Lecture-Recital, which presents outstanding Polish musicians to audiences in Southern California. Organized by the Polish Music Center at USC Thornton School of Music, the Paderewski Lecture-Recitals have introduced the achievements of such noted masters as Zygmunt Krauze, Joanna Bruzdowicz, Stanisław Skrowaczewski, Marta Ptaszyńska, and Zygmunt Stojowski .
Your contributions to the Paderewski Monument Fund Drive will support this important effort in recognizing the essential contributions of Polish music to the universal cultural heritage of our times.
