Nano Stealth Drugs

Spring 2007

How do you deliver a chemotherapy drug straight to the tumor? In this nanotechnology innovation, the drug travels through the bloodstream sealed in a protective capsule. Receptors on the capsule’s outside are designed to latch onto a specific feature on the surface of the tumor cell. The tumor cell absorbs the capsule, which then releases its lethal cargo like a nano-scale Trojan Horse inside the city gates.
