Albion College Library's Grant Writing Website has a list of recommended books on grant writing and fund raising. Some of the books listed are expensive reference works (e.g. The Grants Register) which may not be readily available to regular consumers at bookstores. However, the list includes the standard academic library call numbers of these books so that you can take the same call numbers and visit your local college/university library to see if these books are on their shelves.

ASCD web site has several features. They have their own publication out on grant writing as well as offer their services helping with grant writing. They publish Grant Alerts at this site: companies/foundation who have money they are looking to give for projects in certain fields that are of interest to them, and the amount being offered (if available). ASCD lists writing tips, web sites to check, and non-US weblinks.

Includes information on employment opportunities, education and networking opportunities, and Internet links to legislative and governmental sites that deal with pertinent legislative issues.

The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development offers an extensive grant information site. It encompasses tips for writing grant proposals to finding funding for projects. I especially like the grant alerts section which describes current grant focuses of corporate and foundation sources with links to their sites.

Beginning Grant Writing: An Educator's Guide a comprehensive site at the University of Mass. Graduate School Of Education geared toward educators but provides useful information to all grantwriters. Reviews elements of a proposal, gives suggestions and provides links for further technical assistance, in addition to providing links to funding sources.

California State University at Chico offers both information and technical assistance for grant writers for both government and private funding. The have a list of resources for the US, Canada and other international sites. They have census data and maps available which can be downloaded and placed in proposals.

Their website includes many relevant articles on the following subjects: Gifts & Grants, Fund Raising, Managing Non-Profit Groups, and Technology. This site also provides information on job opportunities and upcoming conferences and seminars.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting offers a guide to the basic elements of grant writing. This guide follows closely and is a nice supplement to the course textbook. Not much else is offered at this website.

This is the site for the Council on Foundations which is an association of grantmaking foundations and corporations. It has good introductory information on types of foundations, a community foundation locator map that lets you point to a certain area of the country and get a list of foundations. It also has good links to other relevant sites.

This guide was written by the Special Librarians Association (SLA) specifically to assist members of their association responsible for fundraising, however it includes quite a bit of information that is not specific to their organization would be of interest to others just getting started in fundraising.

IMAG serves grantmakers more than grantseekers. Interesting site that provides a view of grantmaking from the perspective of corporate donors rather that beneficiaries. Sections providing articles, bulletin boards for topical discussions and outlines of philanthropic principles were of particular interest.

It contains links to many corporate and non-profit sites, a newsletter about certain grant making agencies and what I liked most is a review of many of the sites so you can decide whether they are worth visiting. It does not, however, contain specific information on writing of a grant. It is a good source for prospect research.

The focus of this Tips for applying to private foundations website is mainly on private grant foundations though the site curiously includes an email link to NIH (a government agency). The most useful and interesting part of the website is perhaps an article on do's and don'ts in grant writing.

This U.S. Dept. of Commerce website provides information on the application process for funding, a list of projects that TAIAP has funded as well as information that is required to be included in the grant proposal.  It is a helpful site for anyone applying for telecommunications grant assistance.

Prospective funding source for educators: The U.S. Department of Education web site provides a wealth of information for organizations interested in educational grants.  They provide info on funding opportunities, research & statistics, educational publications, etc.  I  found their “Grants Forecast for 1999” particularly interesting.

This DHHS site offers a Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance website features information on 1,386 federal government agencies’ financial and non-financial assistance programs. This reference guide contains links to Federal assistance programs and offerings (e.g., grants) as well as an explanation of program descriptions, criteria for applicants, amount of awards, and regulations.

There are also links to homelessness and housing organizations, federal policies and law, etc.
