Temporary Accomodation

Not all students have housing plans in place when they arrive at USC. Therefore, USC offers temporary accommodation options that give new international students more time to look around and make arrangements for permanent housing.

What you should know about temporary housing:

*
All new international students have to apply for it and be approved.
*
There is most often a per-night or per-day fee to be paid.
*
As the name suggests, the accommodation is temporary, and meant to tide a student through the apartment-hunting process. The maximum period varies according to the temporary housing plan you've selected.

GUEST HOUSING

Guest Housing accommodation is available at the Cardinal Gardens Apartments on a first-come, first-served basis from May 26 - August 8, 2008. Although the facilities have kitchens, kitchenware and supplies are not provided. Daily and weekly parking passes are available. For reservations or more information for Guest Housing during the summer, please contact the Cardinal Gardens Customer Service Center at (213) 764-2485 or send your request to mailCAR@trojanservices.usc.edu. Rates are $42 per person per night plus applicable city bed tax (double occupancy) which must be made in advance for the entire stay. Payment must be made on-site by cash, credit card, traveler’s check or USC departmental internal requisition prior to check-in. Spaces are limited and subject to availability.

Hotels and Motels

This is a partial list of temporary housing available in hotels and in the general area of USC, particularly for the downtown area (2 miles north of campus). The MTA and DASH buses are available between downtown and USC campus. There are no cooking facilities available at these locations. Prices do not include tax and are current as of June 2008. However, prices are subject to change without notice. These hotels, like the USC campus itself, are located in the centre of a large urban area. The university does not endorse any of the listings below.
