The M.V. Heduru

This was where we stayed for 5 days. The 75 foot, steel, diesel powered MV (motor vessel) Heduru. Originally it was a hospital ship owned by the provincial government that made cruises up and down the coast bringing a doctor to remote villages. It was recently bought and refurbished by a business man in Lae. It is now a charter vessel for fishing and diving along the PNG coastline.

Captain John steered us clear of the dangerous reefs. He also drove the boat all night long so we could wake up at our next survey site.
