El Salvador

We have been able to obtain the following two reports from the coast in El Salvador. The first is from a seaside motel in the town of La Libertad. The proprietor, Rafael, reported that immediately after the earthquake, the sea withdrew approx 150 m. It returned to it's normal level within an hour, there was no flooding or damage. Rafael's hotel is across the street from the bay, at an elevation of no more than 4 m and maybe 75 m distance. The entire shoreline at La Libertad is filled with sea side restaruants whose floors (in my estimate) would be about 2 m above sea level.

The other report is via a friend's family. Some family members who lived near the coast at Tesoro Beach, which is 30 km or so SE of La Libertad, did not report any unusual wave activity. They did report that the wells in the sandy soil, erupted like geysers immediately after the shaking stopped.

I am working on getting the phone number of my friend's relative who was at the beach house on the day of the earthquake.

A second report from the same friend is that a marina in a bay was flooded by rising waters. I do not know where this happened.

I am working on getting information from other sources as well.
