Earthquake damage in Calapan port. Earthquake damage in Calapan port.
Evidence of co-seismic subsidence in Wawa region. Aerial photo of the strike-slip surface rupture occurred during the Mindoro e arthquake. The horizontal displacement of the rupture on the surface is up to 3 meters, the vertical offset reaches 1m.
The measurements of the surface fault rupture. Aerial view on delta of Malaylay river. The fault surface rupture enters the ocean in this location.
Malaylay delta. Area flooded after co-seismic subsidence. Malaylay delta. Area flooded after co-seismic subsidence.
Evidence of the co-seismic subsidence or, possibly, the fault rupture in Mala ylay. Electric power plant barge was transported by the tsunami wave from its perm anent sight near the ocean coast to the location shown on the photo - 1 mile upstream the Malaylay river.
Indication of the co-seismic subsidence in Malaylay river. Aerial view on Malaylay village where most of the fatalities occurred. Tsunami wave went all the way from the shore up to the river creating high overflow currents and causing heavy damage.
The power plant log describing the tsunami attack on the barge. Dying vegetation indicate the subsidence of the area.
