The scope of the database is broad. It includes standards1 issued by medical societies, professional associations, government agencies, and other health-related organizations. The standards cover a wide range of subjects.
Unless otherwise stated, the term "standards" refers to the various standards, practice guidelines, criteria, position papers, practice parameters, policy statements, protocols, or other official documents issued by professional associations or other recognized authorities and agencies, as well as laws and regulations promulgated by federal and state governments.
It is with regret that ECRI Institute has decided to cease publication of the Healthcare Standards Directory Online (HCS). Online access to the database will cease after December 31, 2012.
