The Nobel Website presents information about all Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Peace since 1901 and the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel since 1969.
The information consists mainly of articles previously published in the book series Les Prix Nobel. Among the documents from this series are Prize presentations and press releases issued by the Prize Awarding Institutions when the awards were made. Since 1901 the Laureates have contributed autobiographies which have been published in Les Prix Nobel. The Nobel Essays section contains newly written articles by Nobel Laureates and other prominent scholars. The focus of this section is on the history of science and literature, political conflicts and efforts to promote their peaceful solutions. The documents within the site are linked to each other and to external sites. Many universities and museums have started websites presenting interesting documents about the work of the Nobel Laureates. In other cases the external links provide valuable background information or educational material.
