The goal of Outcomes Management is to increase the knowledge and skills of nurses in evaluating and managing outcomes related to all aspects of patient care delivery across the continuum of care. Selected topics include identifying outcomes to evaluate; measuring and managing patient outcomes across the continuum of care; choosing and developing sound measurement instruments and tests; evaluating clinical protocols and programs; planning and implementing outcomes initiatives; developing evidence-based nursing practice; conducting outcomes research; and using outcomes data for performance improvement.
