American Journal of Economics and Sociology

The American Journal of Economics and Sociology (AJES) was founded in 1941, with support from the Robert Schalkenbach Foundation, to provide a forum for continuing discussion of issues raised and emphasized by the American political economist, social philosopher, and activist, Henry George (1839-1897). AJES has a long and distinguished history of publishing papers in the history of economic and social thought. Today, the exciting and unrelenting encounters between sociology and economics are a natural subject to explore, and AJES continues to publish carefully crafted essays in the social sciences that represent interesting analysis with an eye toward assisting both practitioners and academicians better understand the world in which we live.
