USC Scholars Portal

USC Scholars Portal initial implementation is meta-search software that allows users to execute a single search that will query library catalogs, subscription databases, and Web sites to retrieve results from all of these resources through a common interface. Users can then click on the appropriate button to either get local holdings information or full-text depending on availability. Initially, forty resources have been configured for searching through the Scholars Portal. This includes all of USCs library catalogs, HOMER, Helix and Advocat and article databases. These databases have been grouped into subject profiles.
