Journal of Inter-American StudiesThe Journal of Interamerican Studies was published quarterly at the University of Miami. It includes peer-reviewed original research in contemporary Latin American politics, economics, and society; U.S.-Latin American relations; and foreign policy of the United States toward Latin America and among the Latin American nations. Occasional essays by prominent scholars and public figures on these topics are also included, along with book review essays and book reviews. In spring 2001, the journal was retitled Latin American Politics and Society to reflect the intellectual changes facing scholars of the region in the post-Cold War, globalization era. Its new focus includes such topics as democratization, political culture, civil and military relations, civil society, environmental politics, political economy, and hemispheric economic integration.
