The AJCC Cancer Staging Handbook is an excerpt from the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, Sixth Edition, published by Springer-Verlag New York, Inc. It includes the text from that manual only and not the staging forms. Because the text was taken verbatim from the manual, some references to the forms still remain.
The handbook brings together all currently available information on staging of cancer at various anatomic sites as developed by the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) with support from the American Cancer Society, American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the International Union Against Cancer. All of the schemes included here are uniform between the AJCC and the International Union Against Cancer.
