Half Century Trojans

WHO ARE WE?
Half Century Trojans are the vibrant community of USC alumni who earned a bachelor's degree 50 years ago or more. As caretakers of USC history and tradition, Half Century Trojans are uniquely positioned to support USC, promote Trojan Spirit and strengthen the connections among USC alumni of all generations.

Under the auspices of the USC Alumni Association, the Half Century Trojans organization offers older alumni a variety of programs and events designed to stimulate university-related interest, participation and engagement. Following are highlights of the Half Century Trojans annual calendar:

 

ANNUAL LUNCHEON – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2009, 11:30 a.m.
Each fall in conjunction with USC Homecoming, the USC Alumni Association sponsors the Half Century Trojans Annual Luncheon, which welcomes all Half Century Trojans back to campus for a luncheon celebration and annual meeting. At this event, Half Century Trojans induct an accomplished Half Century Trojan into the Half Century Trojans Hall of Fame (which began in 2003), recognize distinguished members of the Half Century Trojans community, and officially induct the given year's 50-year reunion class into the Half Century Trojans organization.

HOMECOMING – SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2009
Half Century Trojans proudly participate in Homecoming, an annual USC tradition, by hosting a tent to welcome all fellow Half Century Trojans and friends!

Homecoming 2009 will begin three hours prior to the kick-off of the USC vs. Stanford football game. For more information, again, please e-mail Kerran Coffman.

 

GOING BACK TO COLLEGE DAY – THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2010
Launched in 2009, Going Back to College Day provides an annual opportunity for Half Century Trojans to visit campus during a typical school day, engage in a stimulating array of academic, cultural and spirit-related activities, and reconnect with fellow alumni and various constituencies within the university.

Going Back to College Day includes a welcome reception at the Widney Alumni House, school/dean-sponsored lunches, afternoon campus activities such as tours and exhibits, classroom-style lectures from current and retired faculty, a celebration dinner and the option to attend a USC men's basketball game at the Galen Center.

UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT – FRIDAY, MAY 14, 2010

SCHOLARSHIPS
Half Century Trojans strengthen the university's legacy by sponsoring the Half Century Trojans Scholarship Program, which annually confers scholarships of $10,000 each to a number of direct descendents of Half Century Trojans. The scholarships, open to incoming and continuing USC students, are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership potential and community service.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
There is no formal registration process to become a Half Century Trojan; all USC-degreed alumni automatically become Half Century Trojans once they reach the 50-year anniversary of receiving their undergraduate degree.
