USC Readers Plus Literacy Project
Get involved in USC's neighborhood schools! Work with the Joint Educational Project's USC ReadersPlus program to help a K-6 student become a strong and independent reader. The program begins mid-September (fall) and mid-February (spring). After a two-hour training session on campus, you'll be assigned to one of four schools within walking distance of USC. The commitment is 1-2 hours per week. For more information and an application, stop by the USC ReadersPlus office upstairs in the JEP House or contact Nicole Sharma at Sharmani@usc.edu.
E-Mentors
USC Civic and Community Relations seeks 20 "e-mentors" to serve as positive role models to students at Manual Arts High School. E-mentoring consists of online communication (e-mails and instant messaging) that takes place on a secure site at least once a week.
EOPC
USC Educational Opportunity Programs Center (USC EOPC), a department of USC Civic and Community Relations, is seeking volunteers to work with local students and their parents. Opportunities include mentoring, tutoring, field trip participation, speakers’ bureau and much more.
USC Hospital Guild
Help the USC doctors help others. Become a volunteer at USC’s Healthcare Consultation Center and the USC University Hospital through the Hospital Guild chartered by the USC Keck School of Medicine. Volunteers are needed for the reception desk, hospital tours, patient visits, and more.
