Janice Hsia

Janice Hsia joined the University of Southern California in 1981. Her first assignment was working with then presidential advisor, Dr. Thomas Kilgore, Jr., in the Office of Special Community Affairs. Later, in 1984, she joined the newly created Office of Civic and Community Relations that eventually became USC Civic and Community Relations. She also administered the office of the University Chaplain.
For USC Civic and Community Relations, Ms. Hsia administers daily operations, serves as the executive assistant to the associate vice president, and acts as liaison between the associate vice president and five affiliated programs of the office. She also has served as secretary for the USC Community Advisory Council since its inception. Because of her years of experiences in working with various campus departments, Ms. Hsia also successfully coordinated numerous events for community organizations on the University Park campus.
Ms. Hsia's previous involvements include serving on the University's Commencement Steering Committee and as secretary for the United Neighborhood Council's Religious Caucus and Community Relations Committee.
Fluent in Chinese and English, Ms. Hsia holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Tamkang University in Taiwan, and a master's degree in Mass Communication from California State University, Fresno.
