Giving Willingly

The USC Good Neighbors Campaign (GNC) has raised over $10 million through the charity of faculty and staff at the University of Southern California. It has also raised awareness of the needs of our neighborhoods and of the contribution we can make to our neighbors in the areas of educational, health, safety and community-building.

GNC understands that future fundraising successes depend on how willingly our contributors continue to support the campaign and its goals. Fundraising should always be conducted in a voluntary manner as coercion creates animosity, hinders communication and understanding, and eventually leads to decreased support.

Any semblance of pressure - whether real, implied or perceived - is contradictory to USC's philosophy that gifts are to be made willingly. Giving is a personal matter and decision: no form of coercion is acceptable to the USC Good Neighbors Campaign.
