Where Your Money Goes Where Your Money Goes

"Your contributions to the USC Good Neighbors Campaign are far reaching. In the instance of the Kid Watch program, your generous contributions result in the mobilization of a whole community, resulting in countless volunteer hours. But, most importantly, that a child was able to arrive to school and then return home safely is PRICELESS!"

Nancy L. Ramirez, Deputy Chief, Los Angeles Unified School District Police Department

The USC Good Neighbors Campaign raises funds for two separate charitable organizations: USC Neighborhood Outreach and United Way. All funds collected through the campaign that are not specifically designated for the United Way are distributed through USC's organization.

USC Neighborhood Outreach (UNO) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) with the sole purpose of enhancing the quality of life in the neighborhoods surrounding the University Park and Health Sciences campuses.

What Kind of Programs Get Funding?
Any proposal that meets one or more of the following objectives and shows clear evidence of a true USC-community partnership will be considered for funding:

  • Improve the quality of K-12 education, and the quality of life for children and their families.
  • Improve community safety through community policing or other initiatives.
  • Provide assistance to projects that result in economic development, including entrepreneurial stimulation, neighborhood beautification and employability enhancement for local residents.
  • Provide assistance to organizations that offer opportunities for home ownership to long-term, low-income USC employees who live in our neighborhoods.

Grant requests for proposals are accepted in the spring only and must meet all of the requirements described in the grant application guidelines.
