Training and Development - Guidelines

FMS is a strong advocate of employee participation in educational programs. Work schedules may be adjusted to allow an individual to continue their educational opportunities as long as the altered schedules add no additional expense to the department and do not disrupt the department's operation.

All training requests require supervisor authorization when courses are attended during an employee's working hours and the department authorizes payment of training fees by department.

Registration applications are accepted in the order received, and in many cases, class size is limited. If the class is full, the applicant will be placed on a waiting list and will be automatically enrolled in the next available class. In these circumstances there is no need to reapply.
