Every year, the College selects eight faculty members to receive the first General Education Teaching Awards for their contributions to the General Education Program during the preceeding Fall through Spring academic year. Awards were given in all six categories of the program. Recipients are chosen on the basis of statistics and student comments on evaluation forms, course syllabi, and evidence of rigorous grading.

In addition, four General Education Graduate Assistant Awards are made to Assistant Lecturers who taught writing courses and Teaching Assistants who ran laboratories and led discussion sections associated with General Education classes. The graduate students are choosen based on departmental recommendation by the College.

Recipients of this award are honored at the College's annual GE Teaching Awards ceremony held in December. For a listing of the GE Teaching Award Recipients, please choose from the following options:

  1997 - 1998 Recipients
  1998 - 1999 Recipients
  1999 - 2000 Recipients
  2000 - 2001 Recipients

The 2007-2008 academic year award winners will be announced in December 2008.
