REQUESTING MONEY FROM GPSS
![]()
The Graduate & Professional Student Senate oversees the funding of the graduate student organizations and individual student travel grants. Organizations must be officially recognized and have a representative at all GPSS meetings to be considered for funding. Most funding is based upon the number of graduate students enrolled in a particular academic program. However, graduate student organizations may apply for additional funding by contacting the GPSS office in Hazel and Stanley Hall, room 100. Before applying for funding, the treasurer of the graduate student organization must attend a finance orientation meeting with GPSS finance chair. Dates for finance orientation meetings for both USC campuses are listed here.
Funding Proposal Deadlines: (1) Proposals of more than $1,000or more will be considered
by the full GPSS Senate at its monthly meetings during the Fall Semester (check senate meeting schedule here). These proposals are due by 4pm on Thursday at least 5 weeks prior to the event/meeting.
(2) Proposals of less than $1,000 will be considered by the GPSS Executive Board at its weekly meetings during the
Fall Semester (every Monday evening when there is no GPSS Senate meeting). These proposals are due by 4pm on Thursday at least 3 weeks prior to the event/meeting.
