1. Who can benefit most from the USC Executive Health Program?

The USC Executive Health Program welcomes both individual clients and the employees of corporate clients. Our customizable program can suit even the most demanding schedule and we work with each client individually to make visits as comfortable and convenient as possible.

2. What is the difference between seeing a USC executive health physician and my regular doctor?

The USC Executive Health Program is designed to supplement your regular physician visits, not to replace them. What makes our program unique is its emphasis on personalized attention and on early disease detection and prevention. Our physicians will take the time to review your personal and family medical history and design a series of health screenings and a health action plan that will work for you. Each client is assigned a primary USC executive health physician to guide him or her through the screening tests and results reporting. Our doctors are working to meet your short-term medical needs, but also to improve your long-term health.

3. How much does a USC Executive Health Program exam cost?

Our basic executive health package costs $1,350. This price can increase depending on the tests and procedures that are conducted for you. Because our consultations and screenings are customized, the price of your package may vary. We work with each client to develop a package that suits his or her medical and fiscal needs. If an executive is taking advantage of a corporate benefit, our team members can work to package your services within corporate guidelines.

4. Will insurance cover the cost of my exam?

Due the preventative and highly specialized nature of executive health programs, most insurance will not cover the cost of a visit. For clients who are covered under a corporate contract, payment is arranged with the employer and the corporation is billed directly. Individual clients are responsible for the full amount due. We do not investigate the type of coverage clients hold or which of the services provided may be covered. In some cases, we can provide bills for the client to submit to insurance, but we cannot guarantee coverage of any kind.

5. How far in advance should I book my executive health exam?

Executive health exams should be booked 30  - 45 days in advance. Once your visit has been scheduled, you will receive a medical questionnaire and information package from our program. This questionnaire is for you to complete and return as soon as possible. The questionnaire will then be reviewed by an executive health physician who will design your customized program. You will receive an appointment confirmation, health assessment schedule, pre-exam instructions, and parking information before your appointment.

6. How much time should I reserve for my visit?

Most of our executive health exams can be completed in just one morning. Unlike other programs, the majority of our screenings can be completed in a single facility. Instead of having to race from building to building to complete the necessary tests, you can relax in our elegant executive facility while our doctors come to see you. And our imaging center is just steps away from your consultation room.

7. When should I arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled visit.

8. Do I need to bring anything? What should I wear?

Before your visit, you will receive a full information package with your schedule and clinical instructions.

In general, it is important that you wear comfortable clothing and footwear. If you are going to be completing a treadmill stress test, you will need to bring exercise clothing and running shoes. Our facility is equipped with full showers, so you will be able to shower, change, and get on to your next meeting as soon as you’re done.

It is also important that you not eat or drink anything except water and essential medications from midnight onwards the night before your visit to ensure that your lab work is accurate. We schedule all our executive health exams first thing in the morning to make the fasting as easy as possible. If you have any questions about your medications or the requirement to fast, please contact us at (213) 437-1000.

9. Why won’t you perform a colonoscopy on the same day as my executive health exam visit?

A colonoscopy requires one day of advance preparation as well as anesthesia on the day of the procedure. For these reasons, it cannot be performed on the same day as your other screening tests. If you would like to schedule a colonoscopy, you will be given a referral phone number to schedule your appointment with a USC gastroenterologist.

10. When will I get my formal report?

On the day of your visit, your doctor will review your health action plan with you. You will receive a formal report of your lab and test results as well as your personalized health plan within 10 working days of your visit. At your request, a copy of the report can also be sent to your primary care physician.

11. Where can I park?

There is a parking lot directly underneath our building at 333 South Hope Street in downtown Los Angeles. Parking will be validated for you by our staff.

12. How often should I come back?

You should schedule your executive health exam with us annually. Each year, our physicians will revisit your results and action plan from the year before to further customize your visit and build on your progress.

13. How can I arrange for my company to learn more about the USC Executive Health Program?

Have your human resources representative call (213) 437-1000 to request our brochure or book a tour of our facility. You can also direct your HR staff to this Web site for more information.
