Seniors Fit for Life

At USC, we recognize that healthy aging requires the support of a multidisciplinary team experienced in geriatric medicine. With this in mind, the USC Division of Geriatric and General Internal Medicine established the USC Seniors Fit for Life Program. This monthly, half-day consultation program provides seniors with the opportunity to meet an integrated team of geriatric specialists who come together to assess their specific health care needs and ensure that they receive the latest and most appropriate therapies.

Each of our specialists is experienced in the many health and social issues that challenge seniors today. Seniors meet individually with a USC board-certified geriatrician, pharmacist, dietician, occupational therapist, physical therapist, and social worker during a four-hour period. The team addresses important senior-specific issues such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, fall prevention, medication review for drug interactions and cost, healthy eating, end-of-life planning, and access to home care. As a team, these specialists work together to coordinate health care that addresses individual needs.
