The physicians of the USC Oncology are dedicated to providing comprehensive care and advancing research in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer. Our physicians provide innovative patient care at the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital, one of only 39 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country.
USC oncologists work closely with a wide range of medical professionals, including medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, epidemiologists, pathologists, and social workers. They also work closely with national cancer cooperative research groups. This collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment allows our physicians to employ a variety of resources in designing the therapy that is uniquely best for each patient.
Comprehensive Cancer Care
The physicians of USC Oncology work closely with a wide range of medical professionals in cancer treatment and research, including medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, epidemiologists, pathologists, and social workers. They also work closely with national cancer cooperative research groups. This collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment allows our physicians to employ a variety of resources in designing the therapy that is uniquely best for each patient. Our oncologists also partner frequently with referring community physicians, providing consultations to facilitate community patient care.
USC oncologists are particularly expert in planning overall therapeutic strategies for treating cancers of the genitourinary system (bladder, prostate, kidney, and testis), female reproductive system, breast, gastrointestinal tract, and lung as well as melanomas, lymphomas, and central nervous system (including brain) and AIDS-related cancers. Our strong research focus affords patients many treatment options that are not available elsewhere. Patients benefit from standard therapies, new anti-cancer agents, and clinical trials.
