Bio
Dr. Shigemitsu completed his fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine in pulmonary & critical care medicine. His specific research interests are with sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary vascular disease, pneumonia, and asthma. He continues to publish and lecture on many of these topics. As the Co-Director of the USC Sarcoidosis Clinic and USC Center for Lung Research, he is also actively involved with many clinical trials. Dr. Shigemitsu is also the director of the Medical ICU at LAC+USC Medical Center and provides supervision to medical students, residents, and fellows in training.
