Oral Mucosal, Cutaneous, and Salivary Gland Disease - Part 2 (#OFPM-702B)

This 2 part course involves seminars on the various mucosal, cutaneous and salivary diseases and other lesions that occur in the oral and maxillofacial region.

As a result of this course the study will have knowledge of:
1) Proliferative oral lesions, their diagnosis and management.
2) Epidemiology of oral cancer, early diagnosis and management.
3) Persistent aphthous ulcers, premalignant diasease and dysplasia in and around the mouth.
4) Squamous cell oral carcinoma, mouth ulcers and oral mucosal dyplasia.
5) Salivary and oral adenomas.
6) Osteosarcoma, ameloblastomas and other oral tumors.
7) Metastatic orofacial tumors and the process of metastasis.
8) Lymphatic and thyroid gland disease.
9) Salivary masses and hypertrophy of a malignant and benign nature.
10) Xerostomia and other forms of dry mouth and its management in chemo and radiation therapy.
11) Burning mouth disease including differential diagnosis and management.
12) Facial dermatologic disease including rosacea, and herpes zoster.
13) Facial dermatologic disease including basal cell carcinoma, diagnosis and management of facial redness and rashes, verrucous plaques on the face, and acne, psoriasis, contact dermatitis.
14) Facial dermatologic disease including differential diagnosis of facial hyperpigmentation, the cutaneous manifestations of endocrine disorders, dermatophytic infections.
15) Facial dermatologic diseases including antioxidants in chemoprevention of skin cancer, local treatments for cutaneous warts, the link between oral disease and Behcet's disease.
