Our Department of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery offers a 1-month externship rotation at the
LAC+USC Medical Center for 3rd and 4th year dental students who are
interested in pursuing a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Externs will be involved intimately in the daily functioning of the
service at our Level I trauma center. They will have the opportunity
to experience part of our residency program by working in the
outpatient clinic, participating in operating room surgeries, and
attending our clinical pathology conferences, craniofacial deformity
conferences, grand rounds lectures and journal club meetings.
