History

The Century Club was the first organization at USC committed to annual giving.  Its first project was the raising of funds to build the dental clinic on the University Park Campus.  To date, the Century Club has raised over $3,000,000 to insure perpetuation of the School of Dentistry's tradition of excellence in dentistry of which alumni, friends, and supporters have been so proud.
Since its official beginning in 1955, the Century Club provided $100,000 to build the east wing, now housing administrative offices, office of admission, and several lecture halls.  That same year a $20,000 gift provided air conditioning for the clinic.
In 1969, $1,000,000 was given to aid the school's campaign toward construction of the Eileen and Kenneth T. Norris Dental Science Center.
Between 1970 and 1975, $600,000 was provided for the installation of the audio-visual teaching system in the third floor multi-disciplinary laboratories and for a state-of-the-art audiovisual department.
1983 witnessed the completion of the Diagnostic Sciences facility at the west end of the first floor clinic.  This construction was aided by a $600,000 gift from the Century Club.
In 1985 the dental clinic on the 2nd floor was re-equipped largely with funds from Century Club Golden Life membership donations, and renamed the Rex Ingraham Clinic.
In 2000 the Century Club installed the Hall of Deans adjacent to the mail lobby in recognition of the Deans who have served our School so effectively through the years.
In 2004, in the most exciting development in decades, the members of the Century Club and Colleagues in Dental Hygiene elected to merge their organizations into one single support group.  Dentists and dental hygienists now work together within the Century Club to better support the USC School of Dentistry.
In both 2007, and again in 2008, the Century Club provided a $10,000 fund for the School to purchase new clinic equipment and repair existing equipment.
Most recently, the Century Club pledged $40,000 toward the new campaign to update and renovate the Rex Ingraham Clinic.
