His laboratory research program has a focus on molecular
gentic changes in cancer. The ongoing funded research activities include 1)
studies of HER-2/neu gene amplification and over-expression in breast cancer as
a predictor of responsiveness to therapy, 2) the relationship of molecular
alterations in breast cancers of twins to environmental and genetic risk
factors, 3) case-control studies of peri-menopausal women with invasive and
intraductal breast carcinomas and past oral contraceptive use, 4) identification
and characterization of novel genes associated with regulation of the G2-M phase
transition of the cell cycle using a yeast expression system and 5)
identification and characterization of genes differentially expressed in breast
and ovarian cancers.
