This laboratory is currently investigating two complex
phenotypes: ovarian and prostate cancer. His strategy is to dissect these
diseases through a step-wise, candidate gene approach. In ovarian cancer he is
investigating the role of the galactose-1 phosphate uridyl transferase (GALT)
gene. In prostate cancer his is examining the androgen metabolic gene steroid
5-reductase type II (SRD5A2) which he has shown to play a role in both
predisposition and progression of this disease.
