Addendum to Case - The Suspects


FREDERIKA HOLLYWOOD

Ms. Hollywood is the Senior Administrator of the Center for Gastrointestinal Distress Research. She is responsible for grant preparation and administration, and also supervises the research staff of the Center. Since assuming these responsibilities Ms. Hollywood has also become a clinical subject for some of the Center’s research studies.

I. M. HIPP

Mr. Hipp is a premed student at the University and a student researcher for the Center for Gastrointestinal Distress Research. He is primarily responsible for sample collection. He has been quite concerned with his grades and has applied for a position at a medical school in Granada.

ROBERTA BAGWELL

Ms. Bagwell is a research technician in the laboratory of Professor Dis Covery and has been working on his research projects for 13 years. She has been romantically involved with numerous students working in the laboratory, and has advanced their careers in several areas. She represents a memorable experience for some of the medical school graduates. Her skills are numerous and varied, and previous supervisors have consistently rated some of her performances as outstanding and quite athletic.

PROFESSOR DIS COVERY

Professor Dis Covery is a world renown researcher in the area of Gastrointestinal Distress Research. His research has focused on gas-generating colonic bacteria, specifically examining the growth stimulatory effects of several types of beans. He has more than 100 publications in the field and is regarded as an international expert in the field of intestinal gas. Dr. Covery has also maintained a dental practice in a clinic in the CGDR performing dental examinations and treatments aimed at evaluating the mastication of food stuffs including beans. His clinic is well equipped with all the materials and drugs routinely found in a dental office. Dr. Covery also directs several courses for undergraduate and graduate students that present through lectures, text, video and audio the full details of the physiologic effects of bean ingestion. It has become known that Dr. Covery often keeps copies of his course examinations in either his office or the dental clinic.
