Risk Factors: Genetic & Bacterial Transmission | |
| We have known for a long time that familial patterns exist, but a genetic influence has more recently been identified.11 It is unclear whether the risk factors such as the neutrophil chemotactic defect, some other predisposing factor, or the disease itself is inherited.12 This factor is compounded by the fact that Actinobacillus Actinomycetemcomitans (Aa) is found in higher proportions in other members of the family when it is present in one family member with LPJ. Similar bacterial species LJP and adult periodontitis, although there is a notable antibody response to patients with Aa in patients with EOP, especially the localized form.26 |
