Merck Manual of Geriatrics The Merck Manual of Geriatrics builds on the tradition of The Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy, which has been continuously published since 1899 and is the world's most widely used general medical text. Yet readers will find The Merck Manual of Geriatrics a very different book. Although both books are concise and include only clinically relevant material, geriatrics requires longer discussions to explain the differences between normal and abnormal changes and to describe the multidisciplinary approach and the many complications, nuances, and differences in caring for older persons.
