Center for Bioimaging
Conventional craniofacial X-rays do not always provide sufficient information for a complete diagnosis and treatment plan. At the heart of the Redmond Imaging center is a three-dimensional, volumetric imaging technology that produces CT-like images of patient’s jaws, allowing the clinician to more precisely pinpoint the problem. Such definitive diagnoses lead to highly accurate treatment plans for implant placement, orthodontics, complex craniofacial problems and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. The center’s research is focused on developing a virtual craniofacial patient that will further increase the accuracy of craniofacial visualization, emulate treatment alternatives and employ virtual reality to develop new treatment approaches.
