Welcome!  If you’re reading this document you are likely interested, for one reason or another, in the dental education program at the USC School of Dentistry (USCSD).  You may be a prospective student, a current student, a faculty member or an external visitor interested in how dental education works at USC.

These web-pages are designed to give background information about the curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment methods at USCSD.  Problem-based Learning (PBL) is a key teaching and learning method used at USCSD so much of the information here relates to PBL and how it fits within the rest of the curriculum.  The site also includes links to further references and guidelines that are intended to help current students and faculty understand the goals and processes of various learning activities and assessment methods.

We hope you find these pages useful.  Feedback is always appreciated!
