Part time faculty member and director of USCSD’s AYUDA clinic, Harris Done, was honored with the Richard P. Mungo D.D.S. Leadership in Children’s Oral Health award in February by Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County. The award, named for Healthy Smiles’ medical director and pediatric dentist at Children’s Hospital Orange County, was presented to Done for his leadership and advocacy of oral health for children and seniors in the Orange County area.
Healthy Smiles for Kids estimates Done’s donations in money and services in the form of free dental care has touched the lives of more than 30,000 children. Mungo, himself, presented Done with the award on February 28 at the Diamond Club at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to improving the oral health of children in Orange County through collaborations directed at prevention, education, treatment and advocacy.
