ACCESS CARD SYSTEM INSTALLED
OVER BREAK
The School of Dentistry has
installed the Access Card System over the holiday break. Entry
to the building is now restricted to USCSD faculty, staff and
students.
Patients and visitors to the
school are now required to use the west entrance on 34th
Street, which will be open from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
The system utilizes the USC
card’s magnetic strip to identify entrants. Only cards
issued to USCSD faculty, staff and students will open the
perimeter doors. Keys used to access the school in the past
will no longer gain entry to the building.
Individuals who possess USC
cards without magnetic strips will need to replace their
existing card. Part-time employees who never received a card
may contact USC card at (213) 740-8709 to do so. Volunteers
working at the School of Dentistry may call the human
resources office at (213) 740-0435 to make arrangements to
pick up their card. Supervisors who employ part-time student
workers at the School of Dentistry may email their name and
student ID number to Joseph Scarpine at scarpine@usc.edu
to activate their cards.
Similar keycard systems are
currently used at several schools throughout USC. “This
system will really create a safer environment here at the
School of Dentsitry,” says facilities manager Joseph
Scarpine.
Individuals with questions or
concerns regarding the new system may contact Scarpine at
x01092 or via email at scarpine@usc.edu.
