Last month’s Update failed to recognize our outstanding staff recipients of the MOLAR award.  January’s individual MOLAR recipient was dental assistant Teresa Samora of the advanced endodontic clinic. The group award went to the Office of Community Health Programs team which includes Carolyn Bedoian-Malkonian, Thanh Lai, Carmen Molina, Sarah Dial, Carol Parker, Virginia Santos, Yvette Brown, Talia Pacheco, Nimusha Punnen, Pri De Silva, Kim Garber and Irene Reyna.

Roger Harris of clinic supply was recognized as February’s individual MOLAR recipient. The team award went to the office of admissions team consisting of Antonio Esquivel, Eva Yen, Antolette Dalnay, Sergio Estavillo, Meghan McKenna, John Marfield, Ryan Pineda, Brian Steele and Wendy Rivera.

Sandra Rich is the new USC representative to the American Dental Eduction Association's Council of Faculties, replacing Charles Julienne who served the school in this capacity for 10 years.  The Dental Faculty Assembly recognized Julienne’s service with an award of appreciation at their January meeting.

Al Rosenblum now chairs the school’s professional standards committee. The position was previously held by Joyce Galligan who served three years as the committee’s inaugural chairperson.
