The Office of Public Relations at the School of Dentistry is always looking for new ways to keep our dental community connected and informed.

Social media networking is the latest tool we are using to complement our current outreach to traditional media.

What is Social Media? It is a fusion between sociology and technology. We are now seeing a shift in the manner in which people discover, communicate, read and share information and content. It’s become extremely popular because it allows people to connect in the online world to form relationships for personal and business.

We encourage you to join us on our newly created Facebook and Twitter sites. In addition we’re finalizing information that will be contained in the USC School of Dentistry’s Wikipedia page.

We’ll keep you connected by sending you “tweets”…. That is the word used when sending information via Twitter.

Stay connected to the Dental Community join us on Facebook and Twitter. We encourage you to submit videos, pictures and other content that can be shared via social media with the Office of Public Relations at bethdunh@usc.edu.

Among the graduates leaving the School of Dentistry will be a key member of our public relations team. Zoe Proser, a student from the Roski School of Fine Arts, joined the Office of Public Relations in the fall of 2007 and has been responsible for the development, design and layout for the monthly “Update” newsletter.

Whether it was the cover shot for the October 2007 issue “Caries, Goblins and Ghouls”, celebrating Halloween and the do’s and don’t of eating tempting sweets; the August 2008 edition creatively capturing images of DDS 2006 John Jerome sharing details of his mission in Iraq; or the February 2009 Valentine's spotlight using creative imagery to convey oral health as it pertains to heart health, Zoe’s talents enabled us to make sure the USC School of Dentistry “Update” piqued your interest to click on the images and links that would navigate you to stories highlighting oral health and the great things being accomplished by our students, faculty and alums.

Zoe, best of luck in your pursuit of your dreams to showcase your remarkable artwork as part of money making, award-winning advertising campaigns that are also connected to drawing attention to a cause.

Thank you, Zoe, for all your hard work and dedication.
