A cross-disciplinary team of faculty and staff have been working through the summer to develop and implement several improved clinical processes. These processes include patient scheduling, attendance requirements for students and electronic evaluations for both students and faculty. These new processes will “go live” on September 24, 2007.

Clinical Affairs staff will be primarily responsible for patient scheduling and follow-up so that students can focus on developing competencies and providing excellent patient care.

Mandatory student attendance will be tracked in AxiUm. Daily evaluation will provide students with immediate feedback. Faculty evaluation processes will allow students to provide anonymous feedback to faculty on a regular basis.

A special Clinical Improvements kick-off event will be held September 6 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Davidson Conference Center. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

A new Web page will detail coming changes and serve to keep all faculty, staff and students abreast of clinical information including policies and procedures. The page can be found at:
