16 October, 2002
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the Health Sciences Women’s Faculty Association (HSWFA) for 2003/2004. Our group, formerly known as the Medical Faculty Women’s Association, was organized in 1981 to provide a voice for the women faculty on USC’s Health Science Campus. The HSWFA Executive Committee meets every other month (on the third Wednesday of the month) from 1 to 2:30 in the Keith Administration Building room 505. The next meeting is scheduled for November 20th. All members are welcome to attend these meetings. More information about the organization and resources available can be found at our web site www.usc.edu/hsc/mfwa, or you can contact the Office for Women at 323-442-2554.
If you are a new faculty member here at USC I encourage you to join us for our annual spring program which will be held in April 2004 in order to meet more of your colleagues from other departments represented by the health sciences. You will be receiving more information about the spring event as the year progresses. There are over 500 women faculty represented in the health sciences at USC and the executive committee of HSWFA would be delighted to hear from any and all of you. Being a part of this organization is a wonderful way to network with other women faculty at USC.
Sincerely,
Sharon DeMuth
HSWFA President
