My username and password doesn’t work with
the remote access portal.
- Make sure you are using your USC username and password, and not
the one you use for email through your department or school, such
as Keck, Surgery, Doheny, or the Norris Cancer Hospital.
- If you don’t already have an account and you feel that you
are eligible, review the information on computer
accounts and submit the appropriate application form.
- If you have an account, but have forgotten the password, then
contact the Norris Medical Library Technology Support Center at
(323) 442-1968, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
The remote access portal doesn’t let me
access certain journals.
Ovid journals and certain Ovid databases are not available to
affiliated hospital employees with USC computer accounts since they
are licensed for USC users only.
UpToDate won’t work.
UpToDate is not available from all USC-affiliated locations and
is not available from remote sites. Most University Park Campus,
VPN, and dial-up users do NOT have access to this resource. If you
are using USC wireless or are located at LAC+USC Medical Center,
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, USC University Hospital, USC Norris
Cancer Hospital, Doheny Eye Institute or another USC building with
health-related programs and are using VPN, try to connect to UpToDate
after disconnecting from VPN.
The resource prompts me for a password.
Find the resource in eResources
and check the More Info link for passwords or other instructions.
I’m getting an error message at the resource
web site.
Try again later. Some resources are licensed for a certain number
of concurrent users and the maximum number of users may already
be connected. Alternately, the publisher’s web site may be
down temporarily.
