Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Norris Medical Library was established in 1984 by a group of individuals with a common interest in supporting the collections and educational programs of the library. Purposes of the Friends are:

To encourage gifts, endowments, and memorials to the library
To purchase special items which cannot be bought through the general operating budget
To support the purchase and preservation of historical materials
To support special fundraising projects of the library
To help stimulate community and campus awareness of the library
To sponsor lectures, exhibits, publications, and other programs to enhance the scholarly and cultural life of the community and the Health Sciences Campus

Future Friends of the Library events will be posted when scheduled.

The organization has been successful in establishing and augmenting a general endowment fund, the income from which is used to support special programs of the library. Members have also been instrumental in obtaining donations of historical materials for the library's Salerni Collegium History of Medicine Collection.

The Friends of the Norris Medical Library invite you to join with them in helping to ensure that tomorrow's health professionals will have the best possible library resources and information services available to them.

Annual gift categories are:

Patron - $500
Sponsor - $250
Benefactor - $100
Sustaining - $65
Supporting - $25
Student - $10
